Main dining room

With seating for up to 200 guests, this dining room forms the heart of the vessel. Large windows, sweeping sea views, and a high ceiling make it hard to believe you are actually on board a ship.

The main dining room is highly versatile and can be used for everything from breakfast meetings and dinners to exhibitions and trade shows. Read more further down the page…

Small dining room

Half a flight of stairs above the main dining room is our smaller, more intimate space. Seating up to 70 guests, it is equally well suited as a breakout room, reception area, bar, karaoke room, or TV studio.

The smaller dining room features a sound-insulated door separating it from the main dining room below - ideal for those who prefer a quieter atmosphere while the dance floor is in full swing downstairs.

Dinner onboard

Our true strength lies in our evening events. All year round—regardless of weather or group size—we are confident that Teaterskeppet is the perfect setting for your occasion.

Our spacious sun deck, accommodating up to 300 guests for receptions, our dining rooms seating up to 280 guests, and our own onboard kitchen form the foundation of our dinner and evening event concept.

The combination of the beautiful archipelago passing by outside the large windows and the high ceilings makes Teaterskeppet a truly unique venue, ideal for creating unforgettable dinners, weddings, and celebrations.

All furnishings in the dining rooms are fully movable and adapted to the size of your group, ensuring the vessel always feels perfectly proportioned—whether you are 70 or 250 guests.

The food? Naturally, it is prepared on board. Read more about our kitchen and our sustainability focus here.

Mingle & party?

Transforming the dining room into a party venue is one of the most exciting moments of any event on board. As guests begin to finish dinner, our crew carries out a swift and discreet reconfiguration, turning the dining room into a dance floor or reception area.

Live band, DJ, or background music - it makes no difference. Teaterskeppet is equally well suited for relaxed mingling or a packed dance floor.

On board, we have a powerful PA system with accompanying lighting, more than sufficient for most parties.

For live bands, there are two possible stage setups depending on the layout, and we can also add a larger stage if required. For live bands, additional technical equipment is hired separately.

Weddings & anniversaries

Weddings are especially close to our hearts, and it is an indescribable honour that so many couples choose Teaterskeppet for what may be the most important day of their lives.

We truly believe that Teaterskeppet is the perfect wedding venue - spacious and welcoming, with beautiful views and the archipelago gliding past outside as speeches and courses follow one another.

We place great value on getting to know each couple, learning about their dreams and wishes for the big day, all to ensure an unforgettable and truly unique experience on board.

Over the years, we have hosted around 50 weddings, and our office walls are filled with wonderful thank-you cards from all of them.

And lots more...

We love pushing the boundaries of how our dining rooms can be used. Here are just a few examples of what we’ve done on board over the years:

Exhibitions – Invite your clients to a unique and inspiring exhibition in a maritime setting, combined with relevant seminars in our conference hall.

Breakfast meetings – Enjoy a relaxed breakfast in a nautical environment, paired with an engaging talk or panel discussion.

Project office – Launching a new project? Rent the entire vessel as an office and let creativity flow.

Release parties – A new album, book, or film? We offer the perfect spaces to make your launch truly memorable.

Conferences – Use the dining rooms as conference spaces and combine them with workshops.

Challenge us! What else could our dining rooms be used for?

Evenings we’ll never forget

"The apple tree"

The most enjoyable part of our work on board is challenging ourselves and exceeding our guests’ expectations. A wonderful couple once chose to host a private event on board, and during the planning process - while discussing their vision for the evening, our restaurant manager, Alvia, came up with the idea: let’s hang an apple tree in the dining room!

The idea was an instant hit. The logistics were arranged, and the apple tree was carefully lowered into the venue through a roof hatch. Once decorated, guests were able to reach up and pick an apple directly from the tree during the reception.

A small detail that left a lasting impression on the entire event—and once again proved that almost anything is possible on board Teaterskeppet.

Fiddler from the roof...

When M/S Teaterskeppet AB celebrated its 5th anniversary in 2005, we wanted to go all in and squeeze in every wild idea we had come up with so far. In the main dining room there is a large roof hatch that can be opened during the summer to let in the archipelago air—but the anniversary took place in November, and we were determined to show our guests the hatch anyway.

That’s when the idea was born: we would lower Martin Stenmarck down through the roof while he sang “Las Vegas” (2005 was the year he competed with the song in Melodifestivalen). We never thought he would agree—but when we asked, the answer came almost instantly: “Of course!”

Since then, several artists have made their entrance into the dining room in exactly the same unforgettable way.

The moon

There are certain events we have dreamed of bringing to life for years. One such moment came when we transformed the dining room into a French circus inspired by the 1920s. Heavy dark fabrics, fairground lighting, costumed staff, and mysterious music set the scene - but something was still missing.

Our client had heard of an acrobatic performer who performed inside a moon suspended from the ceiling. That was it—the missing piece of the puzzle.

As luck would have it, we had an old follow spot in storage, casting a mysterious glow over the entire performance. The result was nothing short of magical.

Let’s make it happen!

Over the past 20+ years, we have hosted more than 2,500 events on board – ranging from breakfast meetings to full-day experiences in the archipelago. There is no standard template for our bookings; every event is tailor-made to suit your format and vision. And we never tire of it – we are convinced that there are at least 2,500 more unique events yet to be created, and we would be delighted to plan them together with you.
