m/s TEATERSKEPPET
Just cruising...
“Can Teaterskeppet leave the quay?” is a question we are often asked. Many people may have seen the vessel moored at Skeppsbron, but the fact is that Teaterskeppet is fully operational and carries out around 80 cruises each year—ranging from a quick lunchtime trip to Fjäderholmarna to full-day cruises out to the outer archipelago.
And why leave the quay for a cruise? Because something magical happens the moment we cast off. A sense of calm settles on board, and it feels as if both guests and crew suddenly forget about time and place, simply enjoying the harmony of experiencing Stockholm from the water.
We have no fixed routes; each cruise is planned based on weather conditions, duration, and your specific wishes. And if your office is located near the water, it may even be possible for us to pick you up directly.
The vessel is Swedish-flagged, safety-certified by the Swedish Transport Agency for 320 passengers (400 within the Port of Stockholm area), and holds all required insurance for passenger traffic in Swedish waters.
As Sweden’s largest archipelago vessel, Teaterskeppet cannot always dock at the same piers as smaller boats.
To solve this, we use a “mobile gangway” — a support boat equipped with a ramp on its roof. This allows us to access smaller piers, as well as rocky shores or sandy beaches, provided the water depth is suitable.
This opens up a wide range of exciting possibilities, enabling us to berth at everything from private jetties to beaches and natural rock formations. The support boat can also act as an assist vessel, gently helping Teaterskeppet into smaller piers that cannot withstand the ship’s full weight or engine power.
Examples of locations we can access:
-
Grinda
-
Sandhamn
-
Stora Sandön
-
Alviks brygga
-
Djursholm
-
Bosön
-
Harö
We are constantly discovering new places we can reach — feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to explore whether your ideas can be brought to life.

Dinner cruise
Most cruises take place in connection with our dinner events, and we usually recommend a trip of around four hours (though we’re always happy to stay out longer!). During the summer, we typically head towards Vaxholm via the beautiful Tegelön. In autumn, winter, and spring, we take Teaterskeppet through the locks into Lake Mälaren via Hammarby Sjöstad, Liljeholmen, and Hornstull, before turning around near City Hall on Riddarfjärden.
Stora Sandön
There is hardly anything more impressive about Teaterskeppet than the fact that, despite its size, we can berth at some of the most unexpected locations in the Stockholm archipelago.
One such example is during our full-day events, when we often stop at Stora Sandön for lunch (located just southwest of Grinda). Stora Sandön is a natural island with no piers or buildings and, as the name suggests, features a vast shallow sandy beach that is perfect for activities. In the image alongside, you can also see the beautiful rock formations where we can host outdoor conferences and similar events.

Husaröleden & Sillströmmarna
On occasion, we have the pleasure of welcoming our guests on board for an entire day, and when time allows, we head far out into the outer archipelago to experience the scenery at its very best.
One of our favourite cruises takes us along the Husarö Passage, an old fairway that for centuries was used by pilots to safely guide ships through the archipelago.
Another favourite route is Sillströmmarna—a very narrow channel running from Harö towards Möja—an unforgettable experience for both us and our guests.
Let's make it happen!
Over the past 20+ years, we have hosted more than 2,500 events on board – ranging from breakfast meetings to full-day experiences in the archipelago. There is no standard template for our bookings; every event is tailor-made to suit your format and vision. And we never tire of it – we are convinced that there are at least 2,500 more unique events yet to be created, and we would be delighted to plan them together with you.
